Best Deer Attractant for the Money 2022

Getting out in the woods, finding likely places for deer to be found, setting up your trail cams, making sure you have the best broadheads, putting up your tree stand and venturing back and forth before the hunting season officially opens is an arduous task, but a task that all hunters are willing to make to help increase their chances of getting that 12 point buck.

Of course there are things that can be done to help increase your chances even more. You could always plant a corn field, yeah right! Or you could plant a clover field, we all know deer would love to munch on those throughout the year but make sure you get your trail camera up, you want to see whos visiting. But do you have the time to do that?

One of the easiest ways to help increase your chances of dropping that 12 point is to use some deer attractant to help bring them in. If you’ve ever used this stuff you want to make sure you don’t get it on your clothing, but boy it sure does to the trick. Let a buck get a sniff of it and he’ll come running right on in. Another option is to use a salt lick, they go crazy over these things as well.

Just put them out there a few days before you plan on hunting in that location and you’re good to go. So if you’ve been wondering, “What’s the best attractant for deer, both bucks and doe?” You’ve come to the right place. Here are our picks for the best deer attractants for the money in 2022.

TINK’S #69 Doe-in-Rut Buck Lure Review

TINKS-69-Doe-in-Rut-Buck-Lure

Tink’s doe-in-rut buck lure contains 100% natural doe estrous urine that is collected from live whitetail does during their estrous cycle. The rut is the time of year when white-tail deer are more active and less cautious. The quality controlled formula keeps the lure at its peak level of performance.

It produces great results both pre-rut and in rut and can be used with drag rags, boot pads, scent bombs, or in scrapes. Tinks has been making this formula for a very long time so it is certainly tried and tested. The lure does get old fast once the bottle is open so it is best to use it all in one hunt, or in a few hunts only days apart. The bottle has an easy to use squirt top so you can administer the lure wherever you want it with ease.

Best use is in rut, and while it does work out of rut, it has the potential to scare the deer off rather than attract them. It is expensive when you consider that you may not get a lot of use out of one bottle. However in the right conditions you will be rewarded as a buck in rut will definitely be attracted to this lure in no time at all.

Pros

  • 100% natural doe estrous urine
  • Collected from live does
  • Quality controlled formula

Cons

  • Must be used quickly after bottle is opened
  • Best used when in rut
  • Expensive

TROPHY ROCK Redmond All-Natural Mineral Rock/Salt Lick Review

TROPHY-ROCK-Redmond-All-Natural-Mineral-Rock-Salt-Lick

This Trophy Rock natural salt lick provides the minerals the deer need to grow to their full potential, so they can’t help but be attracted to it. Unlike other similar licks which use chemicals, this mineral rock is all natural and mined in Utah. It is very long lasting, with one rock lasting a surprising length of time.

This means that it is a great value for the money when you consider what you are getting. It’s also great if you want to take photographs of game animals. Simply place it on a flat stump or rock and get in position. It can take a while for the animals to be lured to this salt lick, so it is best to leave it in position for a couple of days at least before checking – this definitely isn’t an instant lure. Having it sitting in a slightly elevated position also keeps the deer more relaxed.

While it’s recommended not to leave it sitting in water, the lick is also very well guarded against the elements. It won’t dissolve after just one rainstorm and can withstand any common weather. This rock works best in areas with low minerals, so if your area isn’t one of these then there is a chance that the rock simply won’t work. When it does work, it tends to attract many more does than it does bucks.

Pros

  • Completely natural salt lick
  • Long-lasting
  • Inexpensive

Cons

  • Will only attract in mineral deficient areas
  • Attracts does more than bucks

Conquest Scents EverCalm Deer Herd Scent Stick Review

Conquest-Scents-EverCalm-Deer-Herd-Scent-Stick

Conquest scents EverCalm scent stick provides deer herd scent in a handy stick form that is very easy to apply. Suitable for all areas, it provides a calming scent that mimics all of the smells that whitetail deer produce while in their bedding area. The idea behind this is that it will mask your human scent which they will view as dangerous.

In addition, you will smell like the area where they are most comfortable, so they won’t see you as a threat at all. This scent stick is effective throughout the year, calming and attracting deer by putting them at ease. There is no risk of spills or leaks as it is a wax stick formula. You can even spread it on a nearby tree. It works well if deer are in the area as they will come and investigate it, and it also relaxes them so they stick around when they get there.

However, it won’t attract deer from very far away so be aware of this. The stick is quite soft, so the wax does end up spreading around a lot more than intended. It is very easy to use a lot as once because of this. Ultimately it works better as a scent masker rather than an attractant.

Pros

  • Mimics scent of deer bedding area
  • Easy to apply
  • No risk of spills or leaks

Cons

  • Works best as a scent masker, not attractant
  • Wax is very soft

Buck Bomb 6.65 oz Review

Buck-Bomb-6.65oz

The Buck Bomb is a well known attractant to hunters everywhere. It comes in a spray can containing 6.65 ounces of 100% natural urine from a whitetail doe in estrus. It can be sprayed either intermittently or locked down to disperse the entire contents in one go, hence the ‘bomb’. It is great for use during pre-rut as it can bring out breeding behaviour in mature bucks.

This product also has a great shelf life as it is useful for up to 3 years. This is due to the can design that prevents UV light or oxygen from penetrating to the urine which is what causes it to go bad. The custom nozzle on this product atomizes 1 drop of urine into 3000 particles, enabling it to travel far downwind. The scent also sticks to everything that it comes into contact with.

The sprayer can be quite difficult to use, however this means that you never have to worry about any nasty spills from your scent bottle ever again. It can also be used as a spray around your area to mask your scent. Make sure not to use it when deer are not either pre-rut or in rut, as it will scare them away if you do.

Pros

  • Can be used in stages or all at once
  • Shelf life of 3 years
  • Also used as a scent masker

Cons

  • The sprayer can be difficult to use
  • Only for use in pre-rut or rut

Nationwide Scents deer attractant scent lure uses estrus urine that is guaranteed to contain peak estrus levels, replicating a doe in heat. It can be used in scent drags and mock scrape in both early rut and late season. You can also use it to spray around your stand in order to mask human scent.

Nationwide scents use 600 live whitetail deer alongside state of the art stainless steel collection facilities to collect urine that is as fresh as can be. When you smell this you definitely know what it is, and the bottle has been known to leak so do make sure that you use extra care when both using and storing this deer attractant.

Nationwide scents is a well known maker of deer attractant but the price tag may be too much for some when there are so many other similar products on the market today. This lure certainly attracts bucks and is best used in a drag to attract deer towards your stand. Pour some directly onto the ground when you have found the place that you want to setup at. This will give the buck a focus. Get in position and you won’t have too long to wait for him to come along.

Pros

  • Uses urine with peak estrus levels
  • Attracts bucks really well

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Bottle may leak
