The Suspension Multi-Plier by Gerber is a multi-tool with a total of 12 tools. The main tool is a pair of needle-nosed spring-loaded pliers with a wire cutter. It also has three different blades: a saw, a serrated-edged knife, and a fine-edged knife much like a pocket knife.

Other tools include a screwdriver, a crosspoint screwdriver, a small flat driver, a medium flat driver, a bottle opener, a can opener, and a lanyard hole. Even with all 12 tools, the Gerber Suspension Multi-Plier measures only 3.5 inches when closed.

When unfolded, it has an overall length of 6 inches. Each of the tools are made of durable stainless steel while the butterfly-opening handle is made of lightweight yet tough aluminum. That allows it to weigh just 9.6 ounces overall. To protect the entire tool, each purchase comes with a sheath that’s made of ballistic nylon.

The Suspension Multi-Plier features Gerber’s trademarked Saf.T. Plus locking system. This makes the tool safer using a sliding lock release. Using this, you can lock any tool in place so it doesn’t accidentally close or shift while in use. The same slider is used to release the tools. The Suspension NXT by Gerber is a multi-tool that features a few upgrades from the first Suspension model. This one has a slimmer design, has more tools, and has a built-in pocket or belt clip. Other than those, the same features that made the original model a success remains the same.

These include the locking system and the spring-loaded jaws. It also features the same outboard accessibility, which lets you use each tool without having to completely fold out the handle.

The Gerber Suspension NXT has a total of 15 tools. These include the usual spring-loaded regular pliers, needle-nosed pliers, and wire cutter. Its only knife is a 2.25-inch combination blade, which gives you a serrated knife as well as a fine-edged knife in one.

This one is made of high quality 420HC stainless steel and coated with black oxide. It measures 4 inches when closed and weighs 8.5 ounces.

The Wave Plus boasts a total of 18 tools. Among them are the regular pliers and the needle-nosed pliers. This model features both regular and hard wire cutters, which are both replaceable.
